So we have a lot of excitement in the gallery. We have Sara Macel’s new series TEXAS BUNCH, we have Carin Johnson’s NUANCES, neither of which are pictured here, because you need to come see the show in person.

We also have some great stuff going on in our project(project) space. A shotgun by Nathan Vincent. Excuse me, a crochet shotgun already owned by +kg, but you can get your own, he also has handguns and a fantastic website of imagery.

Jonna Twigg will have two cut paper works up, which need to be seen in person to capture the real essence.

Last but not least, we have our Christmas present to you! Terry Girard’s ICELAND, an installation of twenty unforgettable images. Each 11x14 is available for $100. not a typo. $100, edition of 12, archival pigment prints. more info on the +kgp website.

As on the self-titled BlakRoc album, the collaboration comes off way more calm and unforced than anyone could’ve expected, with the Black Keys’ smeary blues-rock seamlessly meshing with Mos’ moans and Jones’ unpretentious tough talk. Somehow, though, the best part of the performance was Letterman telling Jim Jones, “Way to go.”

Strong reviews and an early awards win drove “Up in the Air” to a spectacular takeoff, as the George Clooney drama sold a studio-estimated $1.2 million worth of tickets in just 15 theaters.

I saw this with Andrea on Saturday night in a very full theater and I’m glad I did. Fantastic movie, wonderful in most every way - I enjoyed the acting as much as the writing as much as the way it looked. I’d suggest you see it as well.

I also saw this in a packed theater on Saturday night, and loved every minute of it.

One of the pleasures of “Up in the Air” is that its actresses — including Anna Kendrick, who plays Bingham’s colleague Natalie — share the frame with Mr. Clooney as equals, not props. The ferocious Ms. Kendrick, her ponytail swinging like an ax, grabs every scene she’s in, which works for her go-getter (go-get-him) character, who is sent out on the road with Bingham as part of an efficiency campaign. She’s a monster for our times: a presumed human-resources expert who, having come of age in front of a computer, has no grasp of the human. By contrast Bingham, who fires people face to face with a small smile and pat speech, comes across as the good guy, though only if you forget what he does for a living.

Looking at my Housing Works Gin Mingle invitation for tonight’s event, I just put two-and-two together and realized that my boss is the brother of Philip Gourevitch, editor of the Paris Review, and one of the hosts for the event!!

Upon my realization, I ran into his office and said “your brother is Philip Gourevitch!?” Marc looked at me like I was slightly crazy to be excited that he was related to the “world’s leading writer on Rwanda” and calmly said “yes.”

What an inspiring family.
